Immaculate Redemption "Root Wall"?

I'm in Immaculate Redemption in Khait, and there is a runnel in the asteroid that you have to shoot some poison sacs as you go through it. In that tunnel is a wall of roots blocking the way. You can kind of target it. Nothing works to destroy it. Missiiles, guns, etc. Anyone toss me a hint on how to get rid of that wall?

Are there any acid pods around? You can pull em' off and then throw em' at the roots. They will dissolve for a while and then come back.

Even if the pod seems tethered and refuses to release at first, just keep thrusting away to pull it loose, it won't take but a few seconds' persistence.

Ah...I just didn't pull enough. I noticed I could pull, but I thought it was just something to play with

For anyone ending up here like I did; You have to grab it and back away while still facing where its attached. Grabbing it and pulling the vine 'over your shoulder' towards the web will just make it touch your ship and burst in your face.
