After you start playing the full release, you can safely delete the Demo.
They share the same Save file folder.

Is it possible to use my Steam Demo save file for my Gamepass full release? I played the demo for nearly 3 hours and I just discovered that it is available on the game pass..
Ah okay thats a bummer. I thought because it is possible to copy the savegame files from Gamepass to Steam, it surely would be possible the other way around. Thank you for your answer
I'm not at home today to give this a try, but I see no reason that it shouldn't be possible. The key will be figuring out how to trick the system into finding the save file to load. Maybe it's tricky but it should be possible. I'll see if I can work on it tonight and see what I can come up with or feel free to try it yourself. Once you know the 2 directories to mess around with it should be pretty easy to try some things, but you should back up both save folders before you start messing around so that if you get to a point it's unrecoverable just delete and restore the previous save folder and you should be good to go.
Here's some information from going from Gamepass to Steam. With this information you should be able to figure out a way to reverse the process.

Thanks for your answer! This is the exact thread I used to try the reverse copy from Steam to Gamepass but sadly it didn't work for me. The thing is, that there are 5 different game save folders in my game pass folder and I don't exactly know which one to replace. I've tried every single folder, copied the steam save file into it, changed the name with the gamepass file but it didn't work. The game didn't detect the save files.
Thanks again für your answer. I really hoped you'd find a way to do it but it's alright. I will just start from the beginning.
Thank you for your help and have a good one :)
