Outlaw Hunt - "kill drones with missiles" seems broken

You're supposed to kill ten drones with missiles for this challenge. I'm pretty far into the game (lvl 18) and still only have 4/10 somehow. It was stuck on zero forever, and now it's been stuck on four for a very long time, despite going out of my way to try to complete it. I've fired nothing but missiles at numerous drones and it never actually counts. Seems bugged to me.

What type of missiles are you using?

-it can't be a corrosion missile of any kind
-it specifies "Outlaw Drones" as in literally the basic outlaw drone you find mostly in Ceto and Union

If you are using corrosive missiles, try using just regular Homing Missiles. I seem to remember something about when corrosive effect kills things it won't counting toward challenges. Just a guess.

If you are trying for the "kill an anti drone missile with a missile" you need to either roll or get lucky with a "cannot be intercepted" characteristic of the basic homing missile :)

That one's easy, just emp the anti missile drone then shoot it with a missile.

As far as the kill 10 outlaw drones with missiles, it's pretty straightforward. As others have said just make sure they are "outlaw" drones and don't use corrosion missiles or rockets. Use homing or scorpion missiles.

Yes as it creates a sneak attack with no time for the enemy to react, modified to be powerful is best.

I was using scorpion missiles when I repeatedly shot down outlaw drones and they didn't count.

Use homing missiles at range of 1.5 or below to let missile compensate if the drone move.
And as they said before, ensure they are OUTLAW drones and not any other kind

I had no problem with that, seemed pretty straight forward, they didn't seem capable of dodging the bog standard missile.

Only the ones named exactly 'Outlaw Drone' count, anything else, including Outlaw Anti-missile Drone, Outlaw Armor Drone, etc, do not count towards it. It has to be the exact name for it to count, no extra words. It may be too late for you to do that if they no longer spawn because you outleveled them (if that can happened)

I had the same problem and it seems that if the drones die by a secondary effect such as Corrosion it won't count. It has to be destroyed by the explosion, that did 10/10 for me really quick once I switched to a blast missile with no effects.

Ah, interesting. This may well be the problem...don't recall the last time I saw "regular" drone. Hopefully there are some out there somewhere...that seems like a silly requirement. Devs should patch it to count any type of outlaw drone.

Also, as other people have pointed out, I was using corrosive missiles for awhile in the early game before I guessed that it wasn't counting for the Outlaw Hunt. But I did switch to scorpions at some point.

Ok, so still isn't working correctly for me. Regular, vanilla "outlaw drones," scorpion missiles, and I'm making sure I don't fire any other weapons. BUT: when the missiles hit the first time, they don't seem to do any damage right away, but then visually it looks like a corrosive hit. Green splash, then damage later. But I have no idea why these missiles would be doing corrosive damage instead of regular. They're superior quality high-capacity scorpion missiles. It makes no sense.

Edit: crafted some basic homing missiles and they worked. Something bugged with those scorpions I was using, I guess...
