Turn down strobe effects?
Does the "effects" slider affect the strobe effect from stuff like the ship ult? I have chronic migraine and flashing lights is one of my triggers. Hit the "g" key on the starter ship for the first time and the flashing from that caused an instant migraine (felt the nausea almost immediately). I bought the game in EA a long time ago, but never really explored it because I wanted to wait until release (also my migraine hadn't progressed to what it is now back then).

Any advice to help tone down that effect or am I out of luck? Do other ships not have that much of an effect on their ult, can I play the game without triggering the ult?

This has been mentioned a number of times by various people. I'm also periodically looking around for any fix for this problem. Not having so serious problem as yours, it would still be very welcome to have an option to turn those effect down or preferably off.
Mods are not an option at this moment, as there is no support yet and it's not clear will there ever be.
It's a shame, really, as game itself is pretty good. But devs should really really do something about this.

It is frustrating. I have to avoid all kinds of triggers, and I know most games have that "photosensitive" warning, so I tend to be cautious. I don't fault the developers or anything, though it would be nice to tone down the flash a bit. I've stopped playing because of it. I know some other games I an just toggle down post processing and be ok, or the effects aren't such a stark difference between the deep black background and bright white colors, but for some reason this one really got me.

Oh well, guess I can't play them all.

A slider to control the intensity of the flashes overall would be great

I am not affected, but have also noticed that the strobe effects are intense. It would be a great option if these effects could be disabled in the A11Y settings.
