ok so now i notice every single button i press on the gamepad makes the UI momentarily switch mouse and keyboard controls for some reason, then switches back to gamepad right after, even if the button is held.

and its actually that literally every button i press causes the game to freeze. so the game is freezing because pressing a button makes it switch to keyboard mouse control scheme when i press a button my xbox one controller. what the hell

k the UI is fixed by forcing the input override to gamepad but IT STILL FREEZES when any button is pressed. im getting 140FPS and every single button i press shows the framerate immediately stutter way down to 2/3rd that. i even tried enabling v sync and capping the fps at 60 and it still stutters only when i press a button. what the ♥♥♥♥

I've had that issue with a loose/damaged USB connection on an old controller. Not with this game, though. M&K is how I fly.

I'd check your physical connections (plug and unplug at the PC and the controller itself) and then open your device manager and watch the controller. If it's spotting out, then it might be a hardware issue.

If it's just the game, then it might get techy. Maybe try a different controller and see how that works?

Also cap your FPS at something. The game will eat your GPU % for no reason if it's left uncapped.
