Drake - Alpha Draco Claim II help
I'm hoping someone can give me a little help with the location challenge for Alpha Draco CLaim II. I cannot seem to find the socket for the power core and it doesn't seem to show up on my map. I have everything but the Heat Sphere and I assume the power core opens the door to it but I can't find it's socket. In the past this stuff is usually hidden behind debris or a breakable wall, but I'm colorblind and these can be hard for me to find. If anyone wants to help with a clue I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Going there now to refresh my memory. Just in location 100% done. You need someone who is in the same process. Suggestion You Tube it Everspace 2 Alpha Draco Claim II, good luck. :steamhappy:

The game really needs some scan consumables/probes to highlight things and turn search time to fun time.

If you find no one to help, try this "Z + F10" then move the camera trough the graphics in search of what you're looking for. :steamhappy:

I actually started with YouTube but couldn't find a video with the location challenge. I'll have to table this one as incomplete for the moment and play around in the rest of Drake. It had been a while since I checked in to the game and the new (to me) content is interesting, even if this situation is very frustrating.

I'm not clear on what this would accomplish, once I go into camera mode the HUD icons seem to disappear which defeats the purpose for me. I assume I am pressing Z and F10 together correct?

No Z then F10 the camera helps you find places you haven't gone into yet. Location challenge is one of your hidden stash. I would place my bet on the wreck with 3 diffent sphere sockets, energy, heat & protector. You gotta be persistent look everywhere & use that camera trick, good luck. :steambored:

So, to follow -up, I finally found the heat sphere dispenser . located on the back end of medium sized piece of debris with a round back end. I couldn't start the button puzzle because I couldn't see the debris covering it until I was right next to it. this was basically a neddle in a haystack find for me due to the redish debris highlight in a giant red lit background with a lot of time spent slowly crawling along surfaces waiting for the cursor to change. I"ll be interested to see what the color-blind option in the final release will look like, because this is by far the most frustrating thing about this game for me.
I applaud the developers for the hand crafted nature of the areas , but the puzzles often rely on visual clues for the first or a critical step that someone with my limitations wil necessarily miss.

Bottom line - Love the gameplay occasionally really really hate the puzzles :steamhappy:

It's not just you... these locations can be a huge pain the ass to complete. Especially the ones with a large amount of objectives hidden behind breakable walls, or behind pieces of debris that need to be picked up and moved. Several have taken me multiple hours.

Also not a big fan of the water worlds. Thalassophobia is real ♥♥♥♥, man. At least there's only a few...

Speaking of, have you all noticed, that if you go deep, eyes start appearing in the dark...

Basicallt, two things needed for quality of life:
- consumables to probe structures.
- highlight icon by pressing F, and filter out any other icons that are unrelated. (So, if you highlight an energy sphere dispenser, only energy sphere sockets would appear as icon in the HUD. Pressing F again on the highlighted icon would reset the hud display)

look for yellow, red and blue beams. all dispatchers are somehow connected/around those beams

So, very much this. I would love to both filter the extraneous icons and also probe structures or at the very least choose a non-reddish highlight color. And while we are asking for things, I wouldn't say no to deployable map marker to help find your way back to some of the trickier bits

Understood, but the yellow and red beams look the same to me with all of the red in the environment. I've played enough of this game to get a feel for how the developers like to hide things. I know mostly what I should be looking for, the trick becomes actually seeing it in the environment. That's one of the reasons I'm looking forward to color blind accessibility settings in the final release which the developers have mentioned elsewhere. Hopefully, it will be enough to ease some of my current frustrations

That one was already announced by Eric on a live stream. Map markers are coming.

Excellent! I apparently missed that live stream. That's something I'll definitely celebrate
