at what point in the game does the titans dlc hook in to?
does the titans dlc add content to the start of the game, or is it all mid/end game stuff?

Mid game and is replayable so it essentially stays relevant to the end of the game. There are some new items in the game as well that theoretically could drop earlier than that but for the most part you won't see the new content till around midway through the campaign.

Thats interesting, so all those complains I red in the past about the game being boring at the end game could change then. And for those who finished the story and have nothing more to do on the game, could be a great excuse to play the dlc part with their max gear if thats possible of course.

Since It will scale to your level it is playable and can be revisited for farming as much as you want after beating the game!
