Everspace2.exe flagged by AV scan for Malware?

DISCLAIMER The objective of this Post is not to put Rockfish on blast nor is the objective to harm their Reputation or Everspace as a franchise.
this Post was made because of security concerns. The Objective of this post is to make the devs aware of potential security risks.

So I was doing my monthly AV scan (28.04.2024_14:07) just to be sure everything is OK,
and my AV flagged Everspace2.exe as infected with Win. Malware. Lazy-10030531-0
(which is ransomware as I found out) anyway after making it unlaunchable, and after I deconstructed the file and scanned everything.
I did not find anything, while doing research i found out that it supposedly is also infected with the lotok backdoor.
so I dug even deeper and could not find anything.
So it's most likely a false positive, but the question still is it really a false positive? How can I be sure that it is safe to launch?

It's a false positive. It's a known issue that you have to put in an exception for Everspace 2 after this latest version was released.

Thanks for the Info I also followed the Link and yeah it defiantly looks like an false positive and I know no software is perfect but still because i don't even use Avast or AVG because of things like false positives and because Avast is everything but user data friendly
