Now if that's impossible for some reason I sympathize, but I got to believe that's your own fault for being hard headed about it and trying to force your way past this particular part of the game. The game saves several backups for you automatically and you should always manually save every time you are at a station. There's simply no reason not to have a backup save spot that's easily within 30 mins to an hour of play time from your current location that you should always be able to recover from. Having to redo 30 mins to an hour is WAY less frustrating than beating your head against a wall if you get "stuck" in a bad way.
I create a new save file every single time I level up. I don't really do this to escape bad situations, I do it because I often like to go back and review how I got to where I am. How long did it take for me to hit level 15? What equipment did I have at level 17? What ship was I flying at level 8?. At what level was I on a certain mission? Not really important stuff per se, but nonetheless sometimes nice to have information and as a side benefit I know that there's absolutely no way that I will ever be "stuck" and not able to progress from a point because I'll always have multiple backups that I can reload from. Better safe than sorry. Rockfish gave you a clear cut way to ensure that you would never get "stuck". I've seen several people wonder why there is no quick save. Is it really that hard to hit escape, save, enter, escape once in a while? My lord how lazy have we become? If you have to do this every couple of minutes then you are abusing the save system for no reason.
If its this fight... how did you fall into that "trap"? You know the Boss is down there and you know its a closed Structure, so it would most likely not be a fitting fight for this Range-Shipclass.
All other Fights that i can remember are in the open or in bigger, enclosed Spots/Caves/whatever.
I agree with worm_master. If you want help, you have to tell more about the Fight.
Yep Devana, even with a scout you should be able to manage, it's weapons r very slow, if u hang back u can dodge the weapons with ease, I also equipped mines, since I could fly around, drop mines, then when he comes though the filed, thrust though an watch as the mines go boom boom, I also had Flak, Flak is good, Flak rules!!
Mines.... will never be my favorite XD Rockets are my choice. If youre lucky, you get rockets, that automatically fire, if you have a crit with your weapon, without using an actual rocket. Others basically teleport to the target, so it cant evade. .... and if you use a bomber, you have unlimited Rockets, thanks to its Conversion-ability.
I don't agree that you can't abuse something in a single player game. I'm not saying it's an unfair advantage, obviously it's not. I'm saying that if you feel the urge to save every 5 minutes, you might be compulsive. You are abusing it. There's absolutely no reason to have to save your spot every 5 minutes or less when the game is already automatically saving your place for you from time to time. If you are on the verge of dieing every 5 minutes, lower the difficulty. It's not supposed to be that hard. I played through the game on Normal and I think I died maybe half a dozen times over 30 hours or so. Granted that I've put a lot of time into the game in EA, but even when I started out I wasn't dieing every 5 mins. Maybe once an hour at most and that lasted maybe the first couple of hours of the game. Since then I rarely die. Heck my hull rarely takes damage, only when something really unforseen happens, not really sure a quick save would have really changed much if anything. That's all I'm saying.
My gut feeling is that people think that a quick save would save them from having to replay stuff and I don't buy it. I think most times people die, it's pretty unexpected and they wouldn't have even used the quick save just prior to dieing even if it was in the game. I know that's the case for me and I think the majority of people are in that same situation.
strategy: watch the energy grid barrier. If the boss is on the other side, neither you or him hit sh*t. You need to be on the Boss side of the grid to do damage.
So go to his side, fire 1 destabilizer, and unload torpedoes on him (take out the shield).
Soon he will charge the beam
Move to the other side of the grid
wait for the beam attack to end
Return to the boss side of the grid, fire 1 destabilizer, and unload torpedoes+autocannon.
Repeat strategy if he doesn't go down yet.
Remember, you can always flee to the other side of the grid, and f*ck around with him by changing grid side when he tries to move to yours. The scout is pretty fast to do this with ease.
If there are drones around, target them and use the corrosion device.
Also, scout: stealth ULT+shotgun does TONS of armor+hull damage.
