Outlaw Hunt 2 - Bloodstar Overseer

Hello everyone. Trying to complete challenge Outlaw Hunt 2, but I don't understand 3rd objective - Destroy all armor plates of a Bloodstar Overseer. What kind of plates? Are they separate objects, like turrets on flagman ships?

if you meet overseer, go photo mode and look very carefully at it. You will see there are like 12 "armor plates" slapped to its hull, like literal steel plates all around it covering like 50% of hull. In the game they will hve glowing yellow animation.

You need to pick them one by one without actually killing the overseer. So everytime you are not sure, go photo mode, and find where another plate is still on.

They look like spaced armor, in addition to sometimes glowing. There are two on top, bottom, sides and front if I remember correctly.

Wow, that's...dumb. I love the game but this challenge has been bugging the crap out of me for the last 40 hours since there was no explanation about what that meant. I just kept trying to use kinetic weapons and making sure the orange armor bar was destroyed before the red bar and figured it was bugged since it never worked. And having to use photo mode to find discrete objects that are never explained in order to complete a challenge is not a great way to go about it. I'm glad there's a workaround and all, but yeesh.

i agree... this is a rather strange Challenge. Ii thought you may have to use a Bloodstar-Weapons to destroy the Overseer, but identifying the plates on a moving Ship and snipe these off, without causing an overkill?

What is the best weapon for this? Gauss?

would say laser or railgun... but you will have to make sure that the target doesnt move much. Hmmm... i think i will buy one of these Ships with slow-motion ULT in combination with Trap-rockets. that should give enough time to aim properly..... if you find an Overseer. these are not that common.

Railgun makes sense: pinpoint and variable power. Just tap the fire button.

Did this 15 minutes ago with a pigeon stare. Just kept it on the overseer and spun around in tight circles like a maniac...no precise targeting needed.

Good for you :D I plan to drift some more through Ceto, hopefully getting found by an Overseer....
Either they avoid me or i have bad luck XD

Finished Story a few hours ago and for now, im completing the Ressource-Entries and hopefully the last 3 secrets/challenges. One of it is the Shadow-challenge in Khione..... maybe i can do that with my bomber. It feels like im dragging an entire Battleship x.x
Striker with roaring Boosters was barely able to maneuver the combined Shadow...

The best way to complete this challenge is to use a grey beam laser, EMP device, energized boost/teleport, and photo mode.
1-approach the overseer
2- emp the guy
3- photo mode - locate the armor plates that you need to shoot.
4- use the beam laser. Tap it precisely on each plate. Do not fire for too long.
5- when the overseer overcomes the emp effect, run away with energized boost/teleport.
6- wait for the emp to recharge.
7- repeat the tactic until all plates are done.

Warning: sometimes, the plates are grey, instead of orange. They are harder to spot.
