Anyway to get infinite weapon energy?

Is it possible to produce enough Weapon Energy to where you never run out, or does the 'recharge' not occur on a weapon until it pauses? I.E. if I produce 500 Weapon Power / S, and my weapon consumes 100 Weapon Power / S, do I fire infinitely, or does Weapon Power simply feed the weapon capacitor only once weapon stops firing?

theoretically possible by using very underlevelled weapons but that would be a big meme. besides, weapon energy is per weapon unlike everspace 1, imo it has never been a problem in the 2nd game

My understanding is that weapons have a charge capacity, and only recharge when not being fired. How long you can hold down the trigger for depends on the charge capacity and energy usage of the weapon, and how much energy your generator pumps out only seems to determine how long it takes to refill the charge when you stop firing.

If you want the ability to hold down the trigger forever, you'll have to use a cheat program like wemod

Interceptor class ships have weapon energy focus, where they lower the energy consumption. They also pull your boost energy, once the weapon battery runs out. Finally they can have a passive that refunds spend energy. Paired with an ergonomic weapon, like Gauss canon, you can fire for a long time.

Edit: Oh and I forgot that their Ultimate Ability is UNLIMITED power!!!

Everything that uses energy only charges after you stop using it, so it's impossible to get infinite energy without an effect that specifically gives it (Interceptor ability for Weapons, Energy Sphere for booster/weapons, etc.)

The nice thing is that weapons charge individually, so you can drain a weapon and switch to another. While using the second weapon, the first will refill.
