Wrecked Station - Union

So Guys, I am a bit confused. I just jumped from Ceto to Union and wanted to clear the first Questionmark.
To clear the area I need to open an saved(?) container. I found the container, the energy-sphere generator but I seem to miss something, because the point to enter the energy-sphere is actually protected by a shield. And I tried to figure out, how to deactivate it, for about halb an hour. Now I closed the game for today, but I am curious what I missed.
Be gentle with me, I'm kind of bad in riddles.

are you talking about the area with the gate to ceto that you first arrive at, or the nearest question mark to the gate in union?

If the power core is behind a shield, then there will be a shield generator somewhere VERY close by that you need to destroy. It may be hidden behind debris, a destroyable panel, or a door that you need to open by shooting a button. It should be within a couple hundred meters of the shield.

Either try to find a shield generator or look for holes in the walls. Sometimes you find a shield generator inside the shield that you have to destroy through holes in the walls

The nearest questionmark, yes. I thought so too, flew around it and everything. Guess I need to give it another try, but it was weird that I found absolutly nothing.

Sometimes it isn't as simple as carrying it to the slot.

In that location, there is a tube that leads to the shielded area, and the orbs can be thrown...

There are some really clever puzzles in this game. Especially in the later systems.

Figured it out. If you look on the opposite side of that wall you're pointed at in the screenshot, you'll see a long orange pipe with several bends sticking out of the backside of that wrecked station section. Follow that pipe and it will bring you to another piece of wrecked station with a destroyable panel. Behind that panel is an energy sphere dispenser. Make an energy sphere, then fly over to the broken end of that long orange pipe and throw the energy sphere down the hole (its a bit finicky to get the aim right). If you get the throw right, the sphere will bounce down the length of the pipe and go into the socket, causing the secure container to open.

Wow, okay. Thanks^. I knew that the orbs can be thrown and already found the dispender as said in the OP. I even seen the hole you pointed out. But I didnt thought I need to throw the energy ball down there.
