How to sell ships to make space?

How can i sell a ship without needing to buy a new one, i just want to sell old ones in my hangar to make space, is there no way to do this from the homebase?

IIRC this can be done remotely while docked to a ship dealer, if you own multiple ships there should be a button somewhere to switch into sell mode. I haven't done it in a while though so my info may be out of date.
