Device Upgrades

Hey there,

So when I level up, I get a device called a "device upgrade," which allows me to upgrade a device.

I'm just wondering if I'm going to shoot myself in the foot here, eg I spend them all on a device I like, and then don't have enough to upgrade an endgame item.

Can I get more through crafting? Or are there enough to upgrade everything after reaching max level? Or is there a respec? How does this system work? The wiki's pointless and Google wasn't able to tell me anything useful.

And are mainframe components character-wide or do they only apply to specific ships? Can I shoot myself in the foot there too? I'm nervous about spending my level-up resources. This game seems like it's modern enough to avoid these pitfalls, but I've been burned before, oh yes I have.

You can earn and craft "memory recalibrator" to reset a device and have the points refunded.

mainframe components are indeed character-wide

you get 1 per level so you should have more than enough

You can remove mainframe points from a ship to allocate them on a different ship

Hi, please keep in mind that 1.0 just released and keeping the wiki up to date and accurate is a lot of work, and that it is open to editing by anyone (including you if you wanted) so anyone can help with that. That being said, I just updated the device page with info regarding device upgrades.
