I remember that one. Pretty tricky for sure. I recommend buying a Striker ship since it gets really good boost bonuses.
Anyway, did it once, now i never have to do it again
the closer i'm getting them together, the harder to control the ship.
the ship boost becoming useless or unresponsive.
either its by design, or the game becoming laggy further from the sun
I had to use several times the photo mode to move the camera around to look where should be my next move.
I did this with my vindicator so you don't need a fast ship to do it, just patience and correct location movement
Same goes if you decide to go to the final creature first and try to carry him up - that creature has much larger mass and actually becomes nearly impossible to control.
There's a spiraling path across the level that essentially never requires you to leave shadow for longer than half a second or so to complete it. You just need to take a little time to scope it out first.
I took that longer path. A massive chore it was lol.
During early access I gave up going towards the sun. In V1.0 I started close to the sun and moving away from it using the acceleration boost device stepping down from place to place and did it on my 1st try.
This is my 1st set of creatures I've ever completed and happens to be the hardest in the game.
Also, I'd have to laugh if the ship shadow really could hide the creature. IIRC Bombers have a wide wing span option that should easily cover the creature even when turning side to side.
I feel the best solution to make this challenge less frustrating would be to add 'checkpoints' where you can safely put down the creature to scout ahead for the next trip. This would also make it easier to navigate through a 3D space that is halfway walled off.
Because this might be too much work, some other options would be to increase the shadow creature tolerance, setting its weight to similar values as something like a power core, or adding the ability to put it down for short while.
