Controller or KB+M for this game?

I play pretty much all shooters with keyboard and mouse, but I found that most games where you are driving vehicles (especially aerial/space ones) controller just does the job better. On games like No Man's Sky and GTA I play on foot with KBM, then switch to controller when I'm in a vehicle. Should I play this with a controller, or are the controls for KBM pretty well optimized?

I feel that m+kb is best. The controls in this game are tighter than those of most other vehicle-based games, so it plays closer to a standard first/third-person shooter than some other games. And enemies can get very evasive, and you'll need some good tracking skills if you want to catch them during those maneuvers.

If it's only between controller and KBM, my vote is definitely for KBM. One of the things that distinguishes this game from a lot of flight games, sim or action types, is that your ship weapons can aim wherever your cursor is pointing, not just straight forward from the ship. If you are using KBM, you can very quickly acquire targets and jump between targets who are on different points of the screen. If you are using controller only, you have to physically change the facing of your ship to point at your target which is MUCH slower.
