I don't understand Gunship passive "Coil Gun Turret"
Does this means the gunship passively has a coil turret shooting enemy without I activate ultimate ?

normally the gunship turret ult is an autocannon.
It can be a pulse turret with the pulse turret passive or a coil with the coil passive. Coil is most desirable atm as it is way stronger as an ult

No. It's not an additional turret. It replaces the ULT turret. But get it. Coil Gun turret is a must have.

Can anyone confirm if the Coil Gun Turret has similar stats to a Primary Weapon Coil Gun? For example, does it have 1,700m range? It seems to be the best passive to take for a Gunship.

Need to know this too, does it have it's characteristic range? If you're Lv.30, it's the same damage of a basic Lv.30 Coil Gun primary weapon? Same for the Pulse Laser passive, same range and damage?

Quick answer from the team (Thanks team!)

With regards the Gunship Turret;
  • The standard autocannon turret deals more kinetic damage than energy damage.
  • The pulse laser turret the other way around.
  • And the coil gun turret deals both kinetic and energy damage in equal measure.
  • Coil gun turret range is 2250m. Fire rate is 6/s.

So aside from the damage type differences ratio.
The Coil Gun also deal better DPS , shoot further, and instant hit instead of slow moving space projectile.
This is why it consume a passive point ?

It is an Ult, so it is considered a powerful Ultimate weapon.

I don't believe the coil gun does better overall DPS than the other turrets, it's just that it does an equal amount of both Energy and Kinetic damage which means that it works well against any target. The standard autocannon turret works better against targets with armor not so well against targets with a shield. The pulse laser turret works better against targets with a shield, not so well against targets with armor. Not sure if there's a range difference between them, there might be.

The general consensus seems to be the Coil Gun is the best of the turrets. Whether it's worth using a passive on it or not is up to you to decide. From my point of view the gunship's ULT is a pretty important part of it's armament. Certainly doesn't hurt to select a passive that maximizes it's effectiveness.

It really is overpowered. Add in a shield or cargo legendary that spawns a companion and it can do insanity 1000 fairly easily.

This explains the reason I had experienced the almost instant slaughter of about half a dozen enemy's within just a few seconds time. I am playing on nightmare level and only use it in a pinch but when I do, usually there's about 6+ baddies around me + a couple elites or so and after activating the turret, within seconds, ther're gone. Quite powerful if you ask me.

Agreed. I have the same load out with the addition of the terminal velocity booster. Coupled with that is an starforged cargo unit that is optimized with =527 structure (adds more armor), +14% booster speed and +100 on handling. If you couple the omni-manus armor with the missile defense system and have it maxed out to shoot mines too, you are literally impervious to any missiles and mines. And it lasts pretty long too. I also have a superior ST shield which has the stat "deal 70 percent energy damage back to the enemy's own shield. That is insane as most of the time the little baddies end up destroying them selves by shooting energy weapons at me.
