How do I get through Cracked Walls?

I've seen a few areas that are marked and have cracks on them, but none of my weapons are doing anything.

Use explosive weapons. Missiles or flak cannons will do.

Thought I tried that, but went and got me a Flak Cannon and that worked. I'll have to carry one from now on.

Yep, missiles or explosive weapons are good.

During the tutorial section at the beginning of the game we get the player to launch a missile at a blocked passageway which is a theme you'll see quite regular throughout your playthrough.

I carry two flaks. One with the "mining" catalyst and one "powerful" for Rifts and HRAs.
