Stuck at Level 12
I'm currently at 32,951 of 16,083 EXP. The level bar went all the way up and has gone back round to zero in the progress bar.
Is there a limit to levels based on progress through the story or is this just a flat out bug?

seems like a bug. Level cap on the latest update was 25.
Were you using a savegame from a previous update, or did you start from scratch after the "ancient rifts" update?

I started from scratch a few days ago.
Weirdly I tested my theory about progressing in the main quest and it did level me up to 13 but it has now done the same thing again, so I wonder if it's a bug to do with how it displays EXP rather than how it actually levels up.

I'll ping the team directly for this.

If you have the save file(s) for this it might be appreciated.

Going to move this to the Bug forum too.

Yes sorry, my bad.
I can find the save file and forward it wherever it's useful, is there an upload website or an email to send it to?

Interestingly the issue has continued again so I'm now level 14 with almost twice the required exp, the bar is off the right side of the screen and I'm getting loads of level 15 drops just no level up. I'm sure it will happen eventually like the others, just very odd that the numbers are so wrong.
I tried reloading the save to see if that triggers it but it hasn't yet.

Can you upload a screenshot too of the issue. I'll pass that along as well.

Steam's internal screenshot function isn't working so I've uploaded a print screen to IMGUR

Hmm, never seen that one before... I hate to ask, but have you used any kind of cheat engine or so at any point?

Even so, could you send your most recent save game(s) to "support @ rockfishgames . com"?

Save files are located at C:\Users\{YOUR_USERNAME}\AppData\Local\ES2\Saved\SaveGames You can go to the AppData\Local folder quickly by typing %LocalAppData% in a windows explorer address field. Note that two files are needed in order to load a saved state, so we'd need both files from you. The file names are almost identical, but one of them has "PREVIEW" in it. If you are unsure which files are the right ones, you can also just zip the whole folder and send it to us.

I haven't, no. I'm not afraid to admit I do use WeMod for singleplayer games so it is installed on the system but I haven't used it on ES2 (yet!) as I think it's well paced and doesn't need a money cheat to avoid grinding like a lot of games do these days.
I'll send the email this evening! Thanks for your help :)

Sometimes, I use Cheatengine on single-player games, not for hacking per se, but for the speedhack feature - to slow down a game a bit, when challenges are too much for my "old timer" reflexes. Some games are really wicked.

Yeah I've never shied away from modifying singleplayer games to be more fun, whether that's through mods or "cheats". I used to 100% games every time but as I've got older and actually got a career the idea of spending 200 hours grinding enough money to buy that ship at the end of the rainbow has lost its appeal. That's why I like ES2 a lot - even if I only play it for an hour I can make tangible progress with new weapons or a new ship every now and then. Unless it stops levelling up, anyway :P

This is off topic but I have been having a reaction speed problem in games for more then 5 years now. This has resulted in my having to start playing games in normal or even easy difficulty settings. Sadly I have discovered that many new games (last decade+) even with easy mode still expect far too fast reaction times and thus are now mostly unplayable. It would be nice if there was a LEGITIMATE way to slow them down (in SP MODE ONLY). I have never heard of an "honest" hack/cheat software that did not come with "hidden" extra's that are detrimental to system security and personal privacy.

Again, off topic.
CheatEngine is free and until today, hasn't been identified by Avast or Bitdefender in any way. Contrary to Universal Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker, that my bitdefender halted when trying to inject it on Stray game, in an attempt to change FOV.
Also, cheatengine has that wonderful feature "speed-hack", that you can adjust game speed to your needs. Sound becomes garbled, but I have never found a game that didn't work on.

I am having the same issue stuck at lvl 6 with 11,109/6,638 needed to hit lvl 7. No cheating used. I have sent my saves to "support @ rockfishgames . com" hope it helps
