The Best way i found is sell Expensive Equipment. Dismantle the Cheap equipment and sell the Expensive.
Another good way is farm enemies that have a lower level then you and sell all Stuff you get as loot.
You get some credits in rewards, and depending of the jobs you also have fights so you can loot as well.
@vorglaa: didn't read your reply before posting mine. so i agree :-)
Distress calls are always great money for very little effort - I always take them whenever they appear. Jobs are the second best money maker, though some jobs are easier than others or don't require returning to the job giver. In particular, the minesweeper and destroy enemies/base are easier to complete than delivering cargo or finding the hidden packages.
I do the same thing. At the beginning of the campaign I sell almost everything to build money up a bit then after about level 5 I start dismantling the lower value items and selling only higher value items. After about level 15 I start dismantling blue items for the components (so I can upgrade equipped items) and sell all lower quality items. Seems to work well for me so far.
