Sell or dismantle equipment?
Hello,

I am still new to the game and was wondering : should I dismantle loot I get or rather sell it?
Being new, I still do not know what is going to be the limiting factor: cash to get better ship or craft item to get some equipment up to level

Thank you

According to the situation. But money is not a problem in the game.

Any tips for making tones of money? I would like to test out ships but they are very expensive (at lvl 11, I am still flying with the base ship I got from tutorial)

The Best way i found is sell Expensive Equipment. Dismantle the Cheap equipment and sell the Expensive.

Another good way is farm enemies that have a lower level then you and sell all Stuff you get as loot.

One good way is to do jobs.
You get some credits in rewards, and depending of the jobs you also have fights so you can loot as well.

For me it's just missions... At Lvl 20 they give you 5k each, plus the gear you loot that you can sell - this way you can make 100k in a rather short time.

@vorglaa: didn't read your reply before posting mine. so i agree :-)

I am a little late to the party, but my advice is to dismantle things you don't have blueprints for or a higher rarities (each rarity gives unique crafting components), and sell the rest. As equipment goes up in levels the sell value gets better and jobs give more money. So I usually dismantle more early on and then as I level up I sell more to generate more money as ships get more expensive as you jump up in tiers.

Distress calls are always great money for very little effort - I always take them whenever they appear. Jobs are the second best money maker, though some jobs are easier than others or don't require returning to the job giver. In particular, the minesweeper and destroy enemies/base are easier to complete than delivering cargo or finding the hidden packages.

High risk areas also give you a substantial credit bonus when you defeat the boss along with the grab bag of loot. They're my bread and butter, although a little long if not aggressive.

Is there a way to get more signal items to start high risk area? (I am getting very few of those)

Enter the random encounters while in supra-light. I usually find HRA signals there.

I do the same thing. At the beginning of the campaign I sell almost everything to build money up a bit then after about level 5 I start dismantling the lower value items and selling only higher value items. After about level 15 I start dismantling blue items for the components (so I can upgrade equipped items) and sell all lower quality items. Seems to work well for me so far.
