Galaxy on Fire
I'm totally new to the forums and have only played Everspace 2 for a few days. Regardless, I've already hit level 20 and am still working on the main quest line.
Has anyone else ever played Galaxy on Fire? ES2 has some incredible similarities between the 2 games.

Well these are the same developers of GoF2 (back when they were at fishlabs) so that’d explain why.

Yep that would definitely explain it. I loved GoF2. ES2 is almost the same game with a different story line.

From 2012? And originally a mobile game? Not sure if want, but interesting to know.

Also Fishlabs? And now Rockfish? I'm seeing a theme there :steammocking:

Yeah, way back in 2012 for mobile devices. It's still a great game. Almost exactly like ES 2 but it's completed.

Don't get it on PC - most of the game (Galaxy on Fire 2) is missing.
They only ported the base game which didn't allow you to have multiple ships, store items and other features and also half of the story.
On mobile however it is pretty much the best game of this genre.

Fishlabs are releasing a new game on PC in two weeks called Chorus. What do you make of this? Looks like a similar game to GoF2.

I have to agree with /me. GoF2 is far superior to ES2 in many ways. The story line was epic. I liked how the turreted ships had an extra weapon slot and you could add your weapon of choice to the turret and the turret would automatically engage targets. The Gunship turret in ES2 is slightly unimpressive. I liked the hanger in GoF2 that displayed every ship I owned parked in their individual spots. GoF2 had a better economy for trade. You could buy one product at one outpost and sell it at another outpost for a profit. Everything in ES2 is priced the same at every outpost. ES2 definitely has a more detailed dynamic regarding ship equipment. Not every sensor, armor, booster or weapon in the same. Regardless if they are rare or superior, their individual qualities such as improvements to Firepower or Structure may make a Rare item better for your purpose than a Superior item. There is still 1.5-2 years until ES2 is ready for full release so we'll have to see how it turns out.

This last point sort of invalidates all the points above it don't you think? For example some of the points that you mentioned are already planned for ES2. Some others have been suggested for ES2 already, remains to be seen if they'll be implemented or not. If it were me, I'd put almost your entire post verbatim into the suggestions forum and hope for the best. That's just me though.

definitely. I loved GOF 2 and I played the sht out of it. It was always a nice mobile game to play when I was younger. Playing Everspace 2 really bring back some good memories of that game and I.m happy that Everspace is such a good game.
