When will DX12 renderer be available?
Not a fan of how badly some games can run in dx11, here's hoping this will be fine but seeing as that option is there, when will we get the ability to use it?

You can test it right now, if you start the Everspace2.exe directly (not via Steam). Just right-click on Everspace2 in the Steam Library -> Properties -> Local Files and then "Browse" which should take you to the .exe

After having started the game that way and going to settings->graphics in the game, the renderer displayed there should be "D3D12" (last entry in the Display section)

We originally had dx12 as default and some players reported problems, some were even unable to start the game but were able to when forcing the game to start in directx11. As in our experience the game did not run faster in dx12 we decided to make dx11 the default for now. Adding a launch option would probably lead into people running it in 12 again (because "12 must be better than 11") and then reporting problems.

DX 12 is not that great frankly...its always had issues.
Giving people an option to switch would be better.
You guys yourselves already said your not even using the feature set that requires 12 (yet).

Thanks for the hint. In case you want to make dx12 default at some point in the future: I briefly tested dx12 with HDR and noticed the colors are way off their intended appearance, too saturated. On dx11 everything is fine so I'll stick to that for now.
