EVERSPACE™ 2

EVERSPACE™ 2

View Stats:
3rd person and menu camera
Hi,

Outside of the FOV sliders, are there any camera options to zoom out in order to have a view resembling Everspace 1?

Thx

Not sure what you mean by zoom out in, but do you mean changing the view? In which case just press V.

By zooming out I mean that the ship appears further away from the players' perspective. Its hard to describe in words. Imagine scrolling with your mousewheel away from your screen and your camera replicating that movement by gaining distance to the spaceship.

Wondering if this is possible with tweaking the settings as well. I'm playing on an ultrawide monitor and the camera is so close to the ship that I see no space (literally) below the ship. More of a thruster-cam apparently :D

Yeah, its exactly that haha. Its not bad but I think it would be a nice quality of life feature to be able to move the camera.

In addition to the FOV you could try playing around with the option "third person camera stiffness" in settings->gameplay->camera

Putting this to max helps reeaaaally slightly, but still far away from being comfortably playable. Is there some other way to manipulate the FoV? I don't mind config-tweaking if necessary.
I noticed that it is possible to zoom out with the mouse wheel while flying at supralight speed between locations. Would be cool if somewhere in the future the game would save the camera position from that. But for now I'm good with the camera settings.

I also noticed that depending on the ship you have, you tend to have a better view of your rear than with, say, a bomber.

I've noticed holding down the ALT key lets you scroll in and out. Basically all I need, but without holding ALT :-)

I hope the devs will add a feature like that. Everspace 2 looks stunning on ultrawide otherwise, and the 16:9 centered HUD already shows some respect towards our minority :-)

Hah! Yeah it does. I'm also happy that they support wide screen resolutions and aspect ratios beyond 16:9. I bought another game recently which is locked at 16:9 with huge black bars on either sides :-/
