Jokes aside, would be awesome having cockpit view and a kind of unlocked crosshair. You shoot where you look at within a small radius from the center.
well tobii does head tracking AND eye tracking.
I image head tracking for head movement just like track IR and eye tracking could be cool for smart HUD to show up only when looking at it, target lock on, and other more subtle things.
On a side note: If you want to have headtracking - better not use Tobii. Tried it in ETS2 and ATS, Elite Dangerous, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, ArmA 3, and some other games. Not a single game recognized my head movement. Sometimes the view suddenly moved somewhere, but it was not a positiv experience, at all - and I tried every possible solution there is. Track IR is still the best system for purely head tracking.
Thanks so much for this feedback! Really helpful!
For me, tobii tracks just as well if not better than trackir head tracking. Eye tracking isn’t very accurate when on desktop but in games where it is implemented it’s just incredibly seamless and responsive.
No eye strain for me from either device.
Been using it in other space games and it really elevates the experience closer to feeling like VR, especially for cockpit view.
