About mods?
Will mods ever be possible say a year after launch to add replay ability?

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Rockfish, please reconsider based on budget. Modding will allow the game to stay relevant in the future and grow the player base significantly. Just look at Mount & Blade, CK2, Skyrim etc. - people still buy the games just because they like one specific mod sometimes and any new movie could bring in a different IP fanbase.
Guaranteed you will have at least one Star Wars and Babylon 5 mod.

Exactly this ^. Skyrim is such a good example.

Mod Support?
It would be nice if possible to have to continue creating content.

Yeah, loads of people have asked for it and we think it'd be amazing, but for now it's up in the air if it happens or not. Here's the Community Ambassador's take on it (Discord FAQ):

There's a big difference between changing your weapon stats, to being able to fully import your own ship and ship modules. Changing around weapon stats can be accomplished with a cheat menu, whereas custom ship pieces requires so much more from our end to enable basic accessibility from yours.

Essentially, some modding is really easy to implement that just takes time. And some of it is really complex, that greatly extends development, and removes the time we could otherwise build content for the game. Right now, we are dedicated to our promises and landmarks for the full release. In order to do that, we have to look past mod support for now.

AFAIK they wanted to do mod support for the first game as well, but that didn't happen either. Can't be overstated how much mods can do for a game. Here's hoping!

Mod support?
Is there any?

Nope

They want to have mod support but it's low priority.

In the Everspace 1 forums when people asked if there were mods, they were told that the second game will have it.
So does that mean that it's decided or are the developers still unsure?

As stated above it's high on the wishlist but it's low priority. Could happen, might not. It's hard to be sure of it so early in development.

Thank you for your reply.

I hope they add it!

The release does not need right away, worst case scenario a DLC after full release.

Modding.
Will there be a possibility of modding in the future?

We'd love to, but it has to be done right and is far down our priority list.

I'm glad this you would like, it gives me hope. Maybe after the release it will become one of your priorities. I believe it thank you.:ily::steamthumbsup:
