Gates Of Hell Comparison
Looking for opinions of old MoW veterans of this game when comparing to the latest and finest instalment in the series which is Gates of Hell. I'm an old veteran myself but can't be arsed to install this, too lazy and honestly haven't seen a single new feature that excites me.

Honestly Gates of Hell is so much better! I was really looking forward to this and some proper competition. But this pales in comparison to GoH tbh.

Especially with the upcoming GoH liberation DLC, there will be little reason to pick this up imo.

How does this compare to Gates of Hell?
I know nothing about Men of War. I played Men of War: Vietnam for a little bit but did not enjoy it because it was just made up of a few missions which I found really hard (never got past the first mission).

One thing I did notice is that the ratings for Men of War: Assault Squad 2 are very high. Much higher than Gates of Hell - and I like Gates of Hell. So, I was wondering, if I like Gates of Hell is it worth me picking up Men of War 2? It seems like they are essentially the same game.

Is Men of War 2 going to have skirmish? Will it be difficult in the sense that all your soldiers are killed within seconds like they did in Men of War: Vietnam?

What's the most obvious difference between Gates of Hell and Men of War 2?

I just bought a bunch of those games on sale in the series to try. I bought the Vietnam one specifically cause everyone said it was impossibly waaaay to hard even on the easier mode .... so I wanted to see what it was like and challenge myself to beat it...... (even though I was told not to try this as my first game xD)

As for your question.... I have no idea. I know the assault squad 2 game is like a "cult classic" but I never played any of them. I played company of heroes 1/2 and have 3 installed to try.

Sorry I can't be of more help but I am interested in peoples answers too so I will wait for the notifications

GoH is a DLC, on an outdated engine. Just from the fact that during MoW2, the multiplayer was buttery smooth.... that alone stomps on GoH. You can't really experience "muh realism" when the game crashes, lags and filled to the brim with bugs... like in GoH. And that's with just two gamemodes.

GOH has a bit more realism and grittier feel, with a much heavier focus on singleplayer campaigns and historical performance of it's units. I found GOH to be far superior to any MOW title in its single player content and dynamic conquest. As for MP it's pretty good, desyncs happen occasionally but overall a very solid game.

As to how MOWAS2 and GOH compare to vietnam, the games are much more lenient and less story driven, more focused on large scale engagements and larger control of units in combined arms warfare. GOH has the best engine out of all currently released MOW titles and is arguably the most stable. While MOWAS2 has a larger multiplayer community and more mods, albeit on an obsolescent engine.

Broken Arrow and Men of War 2 are the greatest RTS since World in Conflict and CoH2 :abitmtired::steamthumbsup:

GoH Ostfront would be great for me if it had large-scale battles with dedicated servers for multiplayer + a better game engine.

My opinions.
Wishing everybody a nice time in games :steamhappy:

MoW2 Beta was much better then GoH is right now. AI in GoH is dumb, multiplayer is unplayable because of laggs

Difficult to compare when one game isn't even out yet.

I personally feel like GoH is superior even though it is on a iffy engine. I have enjoyed MOWAS2, especially with it's mod support which it's almost practically known for. But GoH seems a bit more realistic and true to nature then this game might initially be. MOW2 seems a bit more arcade to my liking. But then again MOW2 hasn't released yet. I'm sure MOW2 will be a really good game, but my opinion, GoH is superior.

Gates of Hell is just for PvE , the PvP is garbage. Just direct control abuse to overcome the horrible AI. Men of War 2 is so much better with PvP but fails in PvE.

MoW2 has the best Multiplayer of the whole Series!

I like the Arcade Mode but there is also a "classic" Mode for Hardcore fans.

So...
