After three months without updates on Men of War II and a lack of official communication, we understand that many of you are eager for news. Therefore, we felt it was essential to reach out and speak with you directly. We follow and read your comments daily and recognize your concerns regarding the absence of development updates. We want to address these concerns and provide insight into the current situation.
Over the past several months, external decisions have delayed further updates for Men of War II. We share your desire to continue developing this project, as Men of War II is our joint creation. Abandoning our projects and our dedicated fans is not in the nature of the Best Way team. Like you, we have invested immense effort, dedication, and hope into this game, and we understand how disappointing this setback is. Please know that your voices have been heard and that we genuinely empathize with your frustration.
Our team remains deeply passionate about the development of Men of War II, and we have numerous ideas to enhance the game while also developing a wealth of new content. Among these are an updated interface, customizable squad management, drafting for multiplayer matchmaking, balance adjustments, and new maps. We’re working on an option that allows players to choose between the new Men of War II unit selection and classic squad management with splittable legacy squads. This feature, along with classic squad management, would enable players to select the style that best suits their gameplay and enjoy the game exactly as they prefer. Unfortunately, due to the circumstances described above, we are currently unable to implement these highly requested additions.
In the meantime, we have not been idle. We have dedicated time to updating Soldiers Heroes of World War II, our very first labor of love, and are now channeling our creativity into a new project that reflects our passion and vision for game development. The Gem RTS engine that powers Men of War II continues to evolve and is under active development, supporting both our current work and future endeavors.
The final decision regarding the development of Men of War II rests with the decisions made in coordination with the publisher, and we remain optimistic about achieving a positive outcome together. We invite you to stay connected through the Best Way Discord server, where you will receive early insights into upcoming projects and updates on the evolution of the Gem engine. Your passion and support inspire us, and we look forward to sharing more about our future endeavors.
Thank you for your patience, loyalty, and incredible dedication. It is an honor to have you with us as we move forward together.
Sincerely,
The Best Way Team
