Will this game require a constant internet connection?
Hello commanders,

So I read a while back that this game would require a constant internet connection (even for singleplayer) and I'm wondering whether this is stil the case or this was not true.

Can anyone clarify this?

Thanks?

Yes, the game will require it. It is necessary to maintain leaderboards and to protect the game from cheaters (it is impossible to cheat in Men of War II thanks to this).

EDIT: We can now confirm that offline mode will be added after release. We will add more info soon.

so what I am hearing since this is a copy and paste from a previous discussion forum is that there is no such thing as an offline mode

It's a shame I can't play without needing internet, whenever my internet goes down (almost always) I play mowa2
yeah to me this seems like a stupid decision and on top of that I am starting to wonder if their true fans of men of war

thats not my point I am talking offline mode
They have their reasons to protect the game from being copied and/or hacked.
I agree, it's great they're trying to protect, but I don't like the fact that there's no offline mode for singleplayer. I know it's hard to understand.
Developer decision. Perhaps there will be an offline mode someday when the game is old in a few years, who knows ? :abitmtired:
Time will tell...

Yeah maybe. I apologize if I came off as insulting or anything negative that wasn't my intention. just got riled up and frustrated.

Understandable. The player requests for an offline mode are graspable.

Is there a work around to separate the requirement for SP (campaign, skirmish) vs. MP?

I know SC 2 had a option where you had to log in online once every so often but could still play the SP content; whereas MP was always an online requirement.

Always online? No thanks.
What an awesome deal-breaker. I dont play versus online mode and also I dont need leaderboards and as a bonus when you turn off your servers, I wont be able to play the game anymore, what a joke.
Always online is rather bad. I don't care about leaderboards. Look at what happened to Blitzkrieg 3 with its always online nonsense. That game is basically unplayable now. Same thing will happen here.
