Land Baron Achievement Bugged?

Twice now I've had 9 territory cards but still no achievement. I took a couple screenshots the second time around. I had 4 cards before defeating an opponent with 5. I'm playing against the computer if that matters. Any advice is appreciated!

It does not matter whether your opponent is AI or human. The achievements of this game are notoriously bugged. Just keep playing. Eventually the achievement will trigger.

Yes! Since posting I've done it at least once every time I played and still no achievement.

You can always go to the website for SMG Studios, create an account and hand over plenty of personal information in order to put in a support ticket, and then hold your breath waiting on them to fix it.

I waited on 1 specific achievement for 10 months before it just randomly popped one day.

I think you have to hold 9 cards that all give you the +2 for owning the territory, not just 9 cards in general. So you have to make sure you and the person you elim for 5 cards aren't holding any jokers and that you own the territories for all the cards. Hope this helps. Probably easier to do on a small map custom game with friends if you wanna try cheese it

Nah. A guy posted screenshots in another thread showing how the game doesn't always register the fact that you have the 9 cards before you're immediately forced to trade them in.

I thought this was an interesting theory, and something I wasn't sure I tested...so I did.

Unfortunately, it's incorrect. Ownership of the territories does not appear to matter.

Joining in on the chorus, Land Baron has been broken for years. I pop in every once in a while to see if they fixed it, since that would tell me SMG cares about the current users.
