MOSCOW & RUSSIA MAPS BANNED?

Hi. 4 Maps That I purchased are missing. All of them have one thing in common:
They feature Russian territory.
I bought 3 map packs a few months ago, including:
"The Northern Pack" featuring Moscow, Moscow Advanced,
"The Advanced Pack" featuring Russia 2010 Advanced,
and "Countries and Continents Pack" featuring Russia 2010.

Is this some kind of political statement? If so, how will you compensate myself and others who lost access to 4 maps they purchased?

If the removal of the 4 maps is political, I think it's actually in favor of Russia.
The 4 maps are all Russian territory??? Why would you remove those maps? Unless you are sympathetic to the current Russian war in Ukraine. Why not also remove your "Classic" Maps too? Since they contain Russia. And then, why not remove Russia from the European Maps as well?
We can't have anyone playing Risk and pretending to invade Russia now can we!

So I created a "ticket" with the Risk Support company, SMG Studios.
Got 2 auto reply emails and nothing else yet.

BUT, I did find a very damning statement they made about how Risk can "Update map packs with additional maps, but NEVER REMOVE MAPS from purchased Map Packs" because map pack purchases are a "once off purchase".

Tbh I can’t believe I actually have to say this.

The whole world is distancing itself from Russia. Russian products are being taken off retail shelves worldwide. Russian imports of all kinds are being taken of shelves (and destroyed in some cases)
The world right now has sanctions in place, industries have unspoken rules for sanctions…
SMG is likely inundated with emails they can’t answer everyone at the same time… be patient, I’m sure they have something in the works for us to replace them.

Playing Risk on a map with Russia on it has nothing to do with the current war Since war in the modern world is common does this mean the end of computerized Risk with current countries on it

1. Don't hold your breath. Whenever I've put in a ticket, it's always taken anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before they ever respond. And half the time, they don't resolve the issue, but just give you a generic "Thanks for reporting. We'll pass that on to another department".

2. You better take a screenshot of that before they change it and then claim it was never there.

Basically what I thought as well. But somehow, Vladimir Putin is in charge of Risk Map Packs now. He doesn't like his country being included on a board game about war and rolling dice.

STILL waiting for an official response of ANY kind from SMG or Hasbro as to the 4 deleted Russian maps....

Russia doesn't care if someone removes their video game content. It's lame virtue signalling and I am not surprised given this studio's history.

After a few weeks of posting and waiting, I finally have an official answer from SMG on the deleted 4 Russia Maps that a lot of us paid money for. I am posting this in hopes of keeping them accountable to their word, which as you will note, is not very specific, but does say they are going to compensate... Read below.

Thanks for posting the reply here, since I don't use Discord.

I can't say I am happy about the missing maps, hopefully when they re-release the maps they don't charge for them.
