Risk.exe has stopped working

Hey everyone, me and my friends recently purchased the game to all play together but one of my friends in particular is having issues starting the game. He goes to open the game and then he gets an error code that risk.exe has stopped working when hes on the loading screen. I read that some people have been crashing on open on the newest patch so I'm just wondering if it has something to do with that or if this is a totally different issue entirely. Thanks.

same happens to me, in my group of friends im the only one getting this error, and no idea how to fix it

My friend was able to open it in safe mode. We're going to continue troubleshooting from here but hopefully that might help you @Picapleitos69

i had the same problem, with 2 games, the developers of the other game gave me this instructions, it worked for me in both games, i change the name of the other name for risk obviously
1.Open the boot.config file (with Notepad, for example) (default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Risk\Risk_Data\boot.config;
2.Add the following line at the end of the file:force-d3d11-bltblt-mode=
3.Save changes and launch the game.
This should help.
