Cheaters
Too many cheaters on this game, its great otherwise, there are clearly people collaberating with multiple accounts, reported them but it continues, the cheating has to be stopped, can accounts from the same IP not be blocked?

Hello,

Accounts from the same IP showing collusion behaviour or being reported by other players get automatically blocked.
Even accounts not sharing the IP but having reports from playing together on them are prevented from playing with each other. We have 6 independent automatic cross checks that block collusion cheaters out. Help those by reporting players (klick their avatar and use the report button) ingame.

However:
Keep in mind that there are many situations in which it appears for you to play against a team, while your opponents behaviour is actually a natural and logical conclusion of the situation on the board.
Also, if you are the highest ranked player, you are the natural Target No.1 for all others. On the other hand, some experienced players have mastered the art of "honeypotting" lower ranked players. Basicallym they either offer a temp. Alliance, or they set actions that make the rookie believe "Big Brother is helping me". It`s an evil but psychologically quite effective strategy.

Rule of Thumb: Only 1 out of 10 ingame cheating reports and 2-3 out of 10 manual (Email or Discord) reports are actual cheating, the rest is the perception of being cheated.

Currently we manually check (after reports or automated alerts) around 30000 accounts and ban 5000 of those per year, which sounds an awful lot, but keep in mind we have 2.5 million players.

Great thanks, I have noticed people logging out and back in to give the impression they have been taken over by the AI also. Very sneaky as people will no focus on the AI.

Yeah, that`s evil but technically not forbidden.

I'm not sure but is it possible to chamge cards twice in 1 round ? No, you must with 5 or ?
Best of this ... same guy changed again - 3rd time !! - next round ?

Have I missed something in rules ? How is this possible ?

Please try to explain me what i see.

If this works it would be my last game here ... this way makes no sense for me.

Only if they kill a player and take their cards, you cannot have more that 5 at a time in risk rules so you must trade any number above 5 in.

Ok I note that killing another player let you get his cards. I ll have a look on this, ty for your answer.

Just played a guy who turned in card 4 TIMES in a row. TWICE when he only had TWO cards. :steamsad:I had enough and finally quit.

I got banned because, my brother, his roommate and another friend played together in a public game. we haven't remotely helped together. everyone has been banned, the support is very weak and cannot even write back. 4 devices 3 different IPs and yet. you can also form alliances

But if it is so easy to report players and they get automatically blocked, then I have a new hobby
aber wenn das so einfach ist das man spielder meldet und die automatisch gebannt werden hab ich ein neues hobby
Both cheating and the incorrect perception of cheating have plagued online RISK from the beginning. The first generation, which used the original CD game, had a voluntary ranking page that everyone used (Case's ladder). People did a lot of colluding, and then on the Gamespy version as well. But as common were accusations of cheating that were unfounded.

Then came the long period where dominategame was the only place to play. It had a built in ranking system, and the same patterns emerged. It wasn't policed, and it got to the point where it was hard to play a game without being teamed against. Then after dominate was offline for so long, once it came back on a new server (it is still online now), all the players were gone.

Now RISK is back. Yay! But too much teaming could kill it here too. But if it is too easy to get someone banned by simply accusing, that will kill it as well.

I personally don't care about ranking. I just love to play each game on its own merits. If quest for rank is what leads to cheating, perhaps that is where the punishments should be focused.

sh..... on ranking its about fun

Why...

Can a player be offline, yet still play? I have played several that do and they always seem to block for the eventual winner. I have screen shots.
