Cube World

Rougue Like Cube World
The "New" Cube World is now a Rogue like. The reason why it fails as a Rogue like is because unlike Hades and the Binding of Issac it takes forever to restart and start over. After conquering a certain region you restart from scratch after multiple hours. In Hades and The Binding of Issac, you restart as soon as you die which can take up to 1 second to 1 hour. Since Cube World takes so long to restart, your progress after you restart feels like nothing. The reason the other two are good as rogue likes is because your progress is mostly just getting good and better at the game. I hope with the new Omega version we can finally get rid of the Rogue like Cube World and come back to what we all remember.

yeah its been mentioned countless times, mostly by me as of late, the crafting system was dumped in lieu of this new format, when the crafting system could have been the 1 way to make exploration more consistent. even if all your gear goes down the toilet in a new region if you could just craft 1 yellow item there your good to go.

i'd suggested even having a power scaling where item strength drops off the farther you get away from where you found it, with maybe some way to craft and extend its power so it doesnt drop as much.

all simple ideas, no idea on how complicated to code it in the languages he is using, but its a shame he doesnt read feedback from here. ever.

Visit stores in villages often. They switch their inventory each game day and will sell + items from time to time that you can take to new regions. Typically I start a new region with at least blue weapons and armor, usually better.

The missing ingredient is still permanent progression. In Isaac and Hades your numbers reset to zero for each run, but you're constantly unlocking new game mechanics and items for the next run. Without that a roguelike is just an 80s arcade game.
