Found out 4+ player servers are possible
https://youtu.be/KmHUNW50NB0 I assume things like this will become normal since we join through steam now. This kinda gets me a little excited how playing with many friends will be like. Maybe this plus building you could setup some type of base wars

More than 4 players was possible in the Alpha, through config file changes, but the game was made for 4 players.

There has been no confirmation of support for more than 4 players for the full release, nor confirmation of dedicated servers. I would expect a maximum of 4 until shown otherwise.

I'm rooting and hoping for 200+ population cap on the servers. Such a small number as 4 or even 2 on a theoretically endless world is going to be very booring.

It's certainly doable as can be seen in Minecraft, and that is a singlecore server, coded in a language that encourages bad coding (not even counting that the Mojang developers are incompetent. 1.14 saw to cementing that fact). Imagine multicore servers. 500+ population caps would be godlike.

If not wollay, hopefully the ones who made cuwo can make it happen.

I actually heard the alpha version was technically infinite. But nobody knows how many people can join till the server just gets snapped out of existance
