Anyone know wtf Mana Absorption is?

I just knocked down my first mana pump and got the "Mana Absorption effect no longer in place message" I have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea what that means.

If I remember right it lowers your mana in the region and if you destroy it you will have full mana in your use.

sometimes there is x2+ mana pumps.
i haven't noticed the mana deduction when playing. it could be a minute effect or broken?

The mana pumps slow down your mana generation. Each pump reduces your generation by 10%.
