Same Map
I understand that if I make new characters they would all be on the same map but are all players of the game on the same map as well? Like am I playing on the same map as you or anyone else?

Yep, all players are using the same seed.

Not only that but it also repeats itself after some distance.

Yeah the biome placement is periodic, but to be fair the period is pretty big, so it shouldn't be too bothersome.

Does that mean there is only one seed for the entire game?

Currently, yes.

Just to clear that up for people who aren't aware of it:

yes, everyone plays the same map, but not the same session, like it's not a huge multiplayer world, but if you play mp with someone, every location you unlock, also unlocks for your sp session. Also the starter region for new chars is random.

One question, if i create a character, and beat some biomes, and for some reason, with another new character i go to the coordinates of these same biomes, they will be clear? Or i can complete them again? like its a new map

I would......think so. Progression is separate between characters, (obviously, because of the region lock) but the thing is I clearly see a "World" file in the game's directory. I don't know what data it contains.

a new session is created for each new char, so you can do them again, if you like.

likely the base world data of the used seed, but I can't say for sure. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What about names? Do you guys all have a region called "Hills Of Amni(?) that is bordered on two sides by water, on one side by a snowy biome and another by a regioned called something like "Plains Of Thanurr?" And in the Hills Of Amni region, is there a village named Geber?

Because that is what I have.

Maybe people could describe which region they started off in and what the central town there is? The map looks so massive that there is a chance - even if we only ever have a single seed - we might never see each others' regions for quite a while so I am curious what the demographics in this forum say about how likely that will be.

As stated earlier, everyone plays on the same map (but not the same session, if you don't invite/join a friend), so yes, everyone has a region called "hills of Amni(or whatever) bordering oceans, plains and snow biomes. If you join the game of another player you can fast travel to them via flight master. Everything you "unlock" there will also unlock for your single player session.

Hope I understood you right and the above clears that up.

Yeah you understood me correctly. Thing is, I am not looking for an explanation. I am not doubting the Single Seed idea. I want to find out where other players started so I can see where that is on my map. I am curious to see what the distribution of players is like and how often players have seen each others' starting location. I want to know if any players have actually been to the Hills Of Amni, for instance.
