As for wollay, yeah, he turned away from community. Not from everyone tho. And personally, i clearly understand why. Same reason i turned away from my own community back in the day.
This says it perfectly and probably better said then I could have said myself. I know I may come off rude about this to some people but I had high hopes for this game. I was excited when I saw they were releasing it on steam. I was excited to play it and experience all the newly added quests, items, pets, armors and weapons, but thats not what we got at all. We got a totally different game then we were promised in all of his teaser tweets showing videos and pictures of. I think for the most part many like myself just lost their minds when we saw what he did to this beloved game. These new players just don't understand the pain Wollay put us through reworking the game from scratch. Its sad and I have a feeling another Wollay vacation is coming and hes using this depression crap to justify it and people are falling for it....
Wollay has deleted his blogspot http://wollay.blogspot.com/
Wollay deleted their cube world facebook (No link because its gone)
Picroma.com has also been reduced down to a minimum, with all Cube World related content removed.
Welp.... people we got our answer. Dude is getting rid of evidence he promised updates and changes. Guess many of us had a right to be upset after all. Here is to another 6 year wait until their bank goes dry and they come back begging for our money.
Further Elaboration: 6 years of feedback were partially being used and teased in tweets, up until this year when Operation: Scorched Earth Cube World Edition was enacted and the entire core gameplay mechanic was upended like a mad DM turning over the gaming table against a party that is determined to keep pissing him off.
in any case its a fun way to communicate by making us all guess whats happening and assume the worst because he simple wont say what hes up to.
They moved it all to cubeworld.com from picroma.com but still, it's messed up to hear nothing.
We also have legal recourse if he doesn't. We have absolutely nothing here that we can do. We can't force a response by legal means or by mob pressure. More so because they're German. All we can do is resign ourselves to it being abandonware.
