Cube World

Cube World

Cube world 2.0 Is good
First off I need to clarify that this is a different game from cube world 1. This is cube world 2. In cube world 2 it's more focused on exploration.

Now amongst my travels some one explained this game to be similar to pokemon which is true.In pokemon you start in a new region with new pokemon in every game. You get these pokemon aka gear to beat the game. Then in the next game you start over. You could bring the higher level pokemon over to make the game easy (aka + gear.)

I've played this game for a good 30 some hours so far and the region locking and artifacts over leveling is good. You have to look at this game as a different game entirely of cube world 1.

Things that could be implemented to make the game better

-Talent/Skill tree that has a few branches so that you can switch up the game play. (Everything would be unlocked instantly but at least you have additional options to mix up the game play.

- Movement items should be permanent. In a zone maybe you can still find them but they only buff the move speed and sail speed. Now that this is an adventure game we need to get around quickly to explore. IMO we only need the boat and the reins permanently. You could also make them purchasable at a town.

-Bombs could have additional uses. Possibly add knockback for enemies and players.

-Fix Hang glider from nose diving when using it. I know you can equip it first before going off and it kind of fixes it but still this would help.

-Bring back special sharing (Boat,Glider, Reins) I thought this was intended.

That's all I can think of right now. If anyone has any questions or needs help feel free to comment below.

Cubeworld is not similar to pokemon.

Sure, after you beat let's say pokemon red and then play pokemon ruby, you start all over again. But these are 2 different games! Cubeworld is one game!
Right now, it would be more like if let's say you're playing pokemon, and you walk from one gym or city to another one you'l lose all your items when you get there and have to start with a beginner pokemon again from square one.

Heck, the current state of cubeworld doesn't look like pokemon at all. In a pokemon game, there is constant progression with clear goals, stronger opponents and a focus on training your pokemon and catching new ones.

Cubeworld is more like running around, getting defeated by strong pokemon constantly until you get lucky and catch a strong pokemon ( get a strong weapon drop from a random npc ), and then defeating everybody with ease.

And sure, there are differences between pokemon games, but the core gameplay loop never changes.

The core gameplay of cubeworld sure did.

getting the artifact at the end of going into a zone, doesnt feel like a huge accomplishment though.

shutting down a mana pump and beating up the mana mech, THAT feels more like a region accomplishment.

This game is by no means based by luck. Simply go to a town get white quests do those, do green quest then blue. Luring mobs to npcs defeats the purpose of this game being an adventure game. Not to mean you can find gear randomly out in the world. under cracks in the ground, in logs, ontop of mountains ETC.

I agree. Some field bosses do drop artifacts but I only found 1.

Wollay should just make a brand new launcher, give us two options "Cube World Classic" with Steam Integration and "Cube World" that way he appeases both new and old players.

If you and the countless others that have to justify the terrible system by having to lure mobs to NPCs until you get lucky you have already admitted the game is horribly flawed.

Can we stop calling this Cube World 2 when it's not?

Can you stop trying to pretend that wollay didn't say it's "basically cube world 2.0" (source: https://wollay.blogspot.com/)

We paid for 1+ not this "thing" we got. We even saw 1+ being made exactly as expected. Then got this "thing" instead. We want 1+.

Can we not pretend that the store page clearly says "Cube World" and not "Cube World 2.0"

Can we not pretend that this is the beta, and soon to be full release, of "Cube World"? Or do you have a secret alpha version of Cube World 2.0 you got to buy as well?

How about the trailer Wollay posted which says "Cube World Trailer", not "Cube World 2.0 trailer"?

Can you look at the very top of this page? What does it say?

How about the fact Wollay doesn't call it a new game, but a new VERSION? Version does not = new game.

Cling desperately to straws all you want. Just like the people who believe there's a magical day 1 update that will reveal the second half of the game, simply because Wollay didn't patch for a single day.

No, I don't agree with you. In many occasions based on luck. I had tested personally. I encounter some fights and I ad no reason to pick whatever was left. I need to tell, I was barely green **.
And then I found golden weapon. Easily I completed all white, green, blue, purple and some gold tasks without an effort.
This rapid progression based on PURE LUCK!
This is not an exploit, just possibility to be "in good time in good place" when strong mobs fighting each other and if they dropping something, why I should resist to pick it up?
If something like this happens should I ignore any drops?

Someone may tells, but many other games offering rare findings... true! But never happens like rapid progression without player effort. Some rare items, including weapons could be restricted, for example - you can use it, but only if you reached some level... Now, we don't have such a system, and we can wear / use whatever we find, just need match our class, nothing else.

I take it you have never heard of battlefront and battlefront, same name different games. This is a different game, the original cesed active development sometime around mid 2017.

Wollay wrote this game from scratch (yes i know people have found the xp bar, which was in the jan 2019 screenshot of this game anyway so means nothing as they haven't found the skillsbar). This game might walk like a duck and look like a duck but it's a goose.

What fact do you have that he scrapped the game and it ceased active development?

Tell me where you have seen him say that.

I don't care about EA. They also call loot boxes "surprise mechanics" and say that their "surprise mechanics" are not loot boxes. Do you believe that, too?

I didn't admit to needing to do that. You don't need to do that at all and additionally that would actually be worse then just doing quests/exploring as the game was meant to be played.

You paid for alpha. Which in my opinion is a finished game already and you can still play it. Cubeworld 2.0 grows on you I highly recommend you give it some time.
