I also read about someone who deleted some friends to just have 15 friends and it worked for him.
I cannot reproduce the old logfile, but maybe it has something to do with the GUI-scalling and the scrollbar. The friend I deleted didn't had any special letters. Or maybe it has something to do with a different resolution and the scrollbar. I don't know. For me: With 13 friends I cannot scroll in the list after pressing 'J' because there is no reason to do that (the list is full).
I hope that helps, even without the logfile.
Event viewer shows that the application is doing something bad with memory.

Seems you have a pattern to work with now that we are two who had the same amount of friends.
