Blue Screen/Rendering issues.
Hello,

It's so amazing that you guys have revived Cube World and I'm really looking forward to playing and experiencing the progression as you change and update the game into the future. However, currently I'm experiencing an issue which doesn't allow me to play the game at all:

  • I downloaded the game when it first got added to Steam, went to play it and realised that it doesn't launch until today. At this point everything appeared to be rendering properly.
  • After todays update the game launches fine.
  • The GUI, all buttons on the screen are clickable and render, along with the Cube World 3D graphic.
  • Everything else simply doesn't render, from textures to characters.

I have tried leaving the game open to give it time to render everything in, but this was to no avail as the game still didn't seem to have rendered anything, the only change after around 10mins was the blue screen (sky) had turned orange.

If there's anything I can do to resolve this problem, it would be great to know as I'm very excited to give the game a go!

Thank you <3

The render fog system still broken from the alpha, and I can bet that it won't get fixed, it doesn't load, it's unplayable

For me, half the game is rendering the background only, my weapon is through my character, I can see the ground about 10 feet around me, everything else is distant objects loaded in, nothing in the mid-range.

Its very odd and I'd post some screenshots,m but they all default to private only, can't upload public screenshots of the beta build for some reason, which certainly makes describing rendering issues alot harder than it should be...

Edited to add the following...

Found a fix for my problem, I play with an overlay set up to monitor system resources. This build apparently doesn't play nice with overlays (EVGA Precision in this case).

The alpha build had no issues with overlays.

In my case its just the precision overlay, I can run with the steam overlay enabled.

Hi again, I found that the fix for my problem was as simple as my anti-virus. To fix the issue that I was having with rendering I simply closed my anti-virus and then opened the game, after that everything loaded just fine; not sure why anti-virus would effect something like that, but alas my problem is solved! :)
