Game won't start.

I'm reading lots of criticism about how the xp system "ruined it" and i can't even test it myself as the game won't open.
Restarted steam, reinstalled the game, nothing. No error, just no process opening.
Help?

yup same i disabled my antivirus which allowed it to have the loading screen up but then just crashes again

I had this issue under win 10 with two different laptops. Noticed they were missing a few windows updates. Let one of tem do all the updates and now it works, so if you have updates waiting do them, it fixed it for me.

I'm on 7 as well. Found that if you load it from the local files, it comes up with an error:

The program can't start because XAudio2_8.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Reinstalling didn't fix it, so I found a version of the DLL online and downloaded it, and inserted it into the Cube World local files, but then a new error message appears:

The procedure entry point WaitForSingleObject could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll.

It's true that WaiForSingleObject isn't in 1-2-0, it's in 1-1-0. This is as far as I have gotten, and I'm not sure where I go from here.

This indeed worked. Thanks a lot. The poster better mark this as a fix so people find it because this certainly wasn't the first post I went through.
