Steering issues
I am using a Logitech Driving Force GT wheel in Nascar 4. I have the settings set at 900 and no force feedback. As I go through the corners my wheel is centered straight and true but as I come out of the corners to go down the front stretch or the back stretch the wheel wants to turn right to go straight. So to go straight In have to turn the wheel to the right at about a 45 degree angle. Why is that and how do I correct it? I can't race that way and I am at a loss as to why it is that way and what to do about it. The wheel is restarted and calibrated before each race.

The game's MUCH BETTER with force feedback now they've sorted it - you really should give it a try! I'm using a G29 and once it's set up sensitivity and force feedback wise you shouldn't need to keep calibrating it.
I tried your tip and it didn't work. I still have to turn the wheel to the right to go straight down the straightaways. I use FFB but with or with out it it is still messed up.

Well i'm sure the haters will jump all over me about this but i'm pretty certain that holding the wheel offset down the straights is due completely to the fact the car is set up with a "stagger",
so the car wants to turn left ALL the time and therefore to go "straight" you need to steer to the right,

That's correct. For oval car setups under throttle the car should pull left, on deceleration it should push right.

I am using the default setups no custom setups. So do you think if I use somebody's custom setups that will fix the issue? It is very frustrating to say the least. Example: When I am practicing at Charlotte, I pull out of the pits and the wheel is straight and true. I go into the first turn and the wheel is good as I turn left through the turn but as soon as I exit the turn to go down the back straight I have to turn the wheel to the right to keep it straight. As I enter the next turn it works great and it is good trough the dogleg but not on the straightaways. Daytona and Talladega are really tough because of the long straightaways. Try doing 195 down the back straight turning the wheel to the right in a 40 car field in and you are in the middle of the pack. Its not easy, its HELL!.

Make sure the steering sensitivity in the Logitech Profiler is set at 50%. I am not sure that applies to your wheel but with the G29 if it is not at 50% you will see the problems you are describing.

Again its NOT the wheel set up,.. ITS THE CAR'S STAGGER!

Try this .I use a G-27 . When I set it up I didn't set to 900. Try a lower number like 270 .
With it set to 900 it woulf
d take several full rotations to make a turn.

stopped using 900 degrees and lowered to 270 or a little higher and makes turning easier

I set the steering to 270. I want full left deflection at 90 left and 90 right. But it doesn't matter. The steering in the game is off. The physics are off. It feels like a slot car and it snaps loose on the apron when it should not.

The apron in the turns should de-wedge the car and cause it to understeer so the rear will come out on the right and your car will face the infield. Then if you don't recover the car should re-wedge as you come back on and if you aren't careful the rear end will back out left and now you face the wall. If you don't recover you will spin out and probably hit the wall.

But in this game the car just snapped into physics hell and spun out left which makes no sense. I dove into turns 3 and 4 at Atlanta and never lifted and never heard anything from the tires. Odd. So I tried it again and went full 100% left deflection. The car just slotted all the way around with no tire noise. What 'should' happen when you get the car to settle and then add left wheel is the tires are now no longer facing the velocity vector of the car and are skidding along the surface. You should hear lots of complaints from the tires indicating you are turning left too hard. If you continue your back end will soon get loose and you will spin out. But not in this game. No aids, no help of any kind and I can go full left deflection in every turn and it never upsets the car.

Nothing about the game's physics felt right. I'm refunding it ASAP. Going back to rFactor 2 and other driving games that understand basic physics.
