Why did the reviews tank? Bad update..?
Been watching this game for awhile.. was going to get it but waiting for sale but recent reviews are mixed.. while overall is very good.. did they recently mess something up? Worth the money?

not really a bad update or anything of the sort, its just still incredibly buggy in many ways.
which is what people would hope get a lot of fixes for with the 1.0 update, but it was a pretty minor update in comparison to other updates.

It was deffo a rushed release at times its really unplayable and sometimes its as dull as dirty dishwater.

As someone who has waited for this game to release and later left a negative review, here are my reasons:
- Incredibly buggy and can completely ruin your progress. At the moment anything sending you to jail breaks the game and since some things that send you to jail only happen after you slept and the game saved it will ruin a save.
- The game feels half-assed and half finished for everything except the building and the scrap collecting. Mechanics are meaningless hygene/bladder/calories never really come into play, NPCs are lifeless apart from their basic functions.
- The game starts off looking and feeling like a very different type of game with tasks, jobs and a world to interact with. By the time you realise that what you have seen in the first two hours or so is all there is to that aspect, you are already past the refund mark.

Jail bug has been fixed in today's patch.

Please do report issues to me, greg@misnkworks.net. I love this game and want to make it as best as it can be, but I'm just one person and I cannot fix issues that I'm not aware of. All feedback is listened to and taken onboard!

Thank you for your support, I'm trying really hard to address all the complaints and fix the issues.

REALLY appreciate this reply. I did buy the game to try out.

Im not really sure why people give the bad reviews, the bugs are pretty minor in my experience and ive played the game for hours, as for the pace of the game it is what it is, your not going to get bowled over by extreme excitement but you will have pints of satisfaction once youve finished building your houses and sell them and upgrade your gear etc. its a nice little game that becomes very addictive if you stick with it

I think it's important not to confuse 'bad' reviews with 'not recommended' reviews. I leave reviews on games with a criteria of "If a friend came to me and asked me if they should spend their money on this, how would I respond?".

What this means is that often games with lots of character like Landlord's Super end up with a thumbs down review simply because despite my love for them, I found them to be overly-frustrating or just severely under-polished.

I do think that it is possible to enjoy this game and get a decent amount out of it, but the risk of running into game-breaking or similar issues is so high that I would not tell a friend of mine to spend any money on it until it was fixed.

With that, if the game sees significant repairs, I'll update my review justly.

Just my two cents.

Is it better to report bugs and issues directly to your e-mail or on the airtable.com form?

I've been doing it thru the airtable form; I will link to my screenshots if I've got one relevant to the bug.

I've been a long time follower of this game and played the many test branches. I was pretty excited seeing it go into official 1.0 launch and then I had a game breaking bug maybe 2 days after the launch? Totally built house with a grafter tenant, but for some reason when I saved the game and relaunched the game removed all of my furniture in the house and inside the caravan. Removed all tools, and on top of it the site was locked somehow. I've had several game breaking bugs but when you opt in for a development branch its to be expected, however it seems others on 1.0 along with myself are still having game breaking, save ruining issues. The steam reviews are rated on a Recommended or Not Recommended scale, and if this is being marketed as a "finished" game, then I agree with the current reviews. I love the game personally and forgive its flaws but to just launch it as is, feels a bit rushed

How old is this save data? Did you start a new save on the release date? Do you have Kapersky anti-virus? Please send your save data to greg@minskworks.net

Please, I understand frustrations, but leaving a negative review means the game just dies as I can't afford to support it. I'm one guy working on this, it's not exactly a popular game and I'm doing the best I can to keep it alive and supported.

If you get a bug, don't leave a negative review, get in touch with me, let me know what the issue is and I'll fix it as fast as I can.

It definitly has some rough edges and some parts could be more fleshed out in some places calling it 1.0 at this state might have soured some people.

So far I had no hard game breaking bugs but given that i only recently discovert this game everything is still in the open.

I would be interreseted whats still in the works for this game, i read somewhere vehicles might be an option. But i havend found a "Roadmap" neither here on steam nor on discord.

It’s a great game. You can nip around the place collecting, saving your cash. The building is immersive and quite dense with the tasks for finishing the site.

I’ve played most Sim games and found that this one is a fantastic experience where you get really motivated to finish the house.

Worth the money and if there was an expansion I’d snap it up.

Yeah any negative feelings are valid long as comments are made about what people don't like so things can be changed for the better in the future.
