Technically, no, there will not be any continuation, chapter 5 is the end.
It was like this in the original too, the game just ended quite "brutally".

But we can still hope that MICA will find a way to make a sequel to it, even if they are busy with Girls frontline 2 and Project Neural cloud (and a bit of Girlsfrontline? maybe? game is still alive apparently, so.)

Original as in the original bakery game released in 2013. This is a remake of that game.

This game is a remake/reimagining of Codename: Bakery Girl from 2013. Which, like the person above noted, ended in a similar way. There was originally a sequel planned but it was cut early in development, with its potential plot summarized in the lore documents released with the girls frontline artbooks. Since reverse collapse differs in so many ways it's obviously no longer canon, but it's neat to see. Notably in the original there is no time loop stuff so the bit where it's implied EVERYONE DIES IN A NUCLEAR STRIKE ON AN OVERLOADING RELIC is almost assuredly no longer the case. Especially since that seems to be referenced in the weird flash-forward at the end of chapter 2 as a potential bad end that Jefuty already experienced.

if they did a remake then we can hope for a sequel right? no way they did remake it to have that ending

Anything can happen. We'll just have to wait and see.

1 word. Lunasia

In Nier/Drakengard, everything began with a single flower. Look at how the story and lore has expanded with Nier Reincarnation. Likewise, in Girls Frontline. Everything began with her. And the story can be expanded based on Mica's and XD's creativity.

I think the game ends like that because GFL1 and 2 are yet to end, hell, GFL2 is just starting. I'm saying this because Jefuty's story is supposed to be the end of the franchise, so there's probably gonna be a RC2 after the main story in GFL2 is finished in a few years.

It's in the Developer Boardcast on Steam, for some reasons they decided to livestream there. No archive tho but there is translation and talk about that livestream in the official discord server.

operation kindle and 2nd beilan island incident for sequels is possible, judging from the canon confidential files.
springy Apr 15, 2024 @ 1:31pm
having read the file on it in 2092R, Operation Tinder is pretty much a shoe in as a sequel
the setup is to perfect to pass up
