Someone actually posted the break down of the drama on Reddit.

It's basically just a defamation campaign from rival Chinese companies. If I am not mistaken, this devs is actually the first Chinese devs to make Chinese gacha games (previously those games are mostly Koreans and Japanese origin) and they got a lot of competitors.
So far i am 20 hours in and have done 15 out of supposedly 60+ missions on challenge+ S only difficulty.
If it does not fall off by the endgame, it could become one of my favorite tactic games.
The core combat is solid and the handcrafted maps force you to adapt your strategy. If you play on the highest difficulty and want to do all side objectives, most maps will take you several restarts.
Character building is rather limited, but that is a price that needs to be paid for tight gameplay.
Story seems solid but i do not care much about narratives so can hardly judge.
Tho this game do have it's own quirk like lots of stealth and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of enemy thrown at you. The first few hours of this game is very good representation of what's coming to you. So if you like the early chances are you won't be disappointed and vice versa.
but this game isnt a gacha right? its a one time only pay and play, right?
Play games like this long enough and you start to find zen acceptance of the fact that any chance to hit below 100% means your character is gonna feel like they have, at best, a coin flip chance of aiming like a Star Wars stormtrooper.
And if it is 100% chance to hit, then be sure to read the enemy's skills to make sure there isn't gonna be some graze/immunity shield/other crap waiting to negate the damage anyway.
Oh and the game's pretty good. I don't know the first thing about GFL beyond that it's a gacha about girls with guns, I just got into this one because I was bored in 2023 and the demo was on Steam's NEXT fest, I played it, liked it and wishlisted.
There are bits and pieces of GFL-related stuff that GFL players might spot and enjoy, but overall it's a self-sufficient game as far as I'm aware.
Tho I think hit chance in SRPG, while it's indefinite meme potential. Are long due for a overhaul.
I wish I can say the same to Super Robot Wars series…
