Gotta say I'm quite intrigued by the bizarre stuff these BilliBilli originated review bombers are posting. Here I am expecting reviews about GFL tie ins and OMG it's finally here, but instead I'm treated to machine translated shouting about sedition, zionism and other such slop. I guess Type 95 really rankled these people.

I'm not following Girl's Frontline closely, but is this about Chinese players thinking they have been cucked by one of dolls, because in the time skip between GF1 and GF2 she befriends a male NPC?

Yea, a vocal group of the Chinese server went nuts over it. I understand really liking a character, but going to this extent is ridiculous. Hopefully MICA team keeps a level head and doesn't destroy the quality of their work to pander to these folks.

and the funny thing is that it not even an NTR, it just a friend remembering a friend IN an Event mind you
everyone in the official GFL 2 discord (tho i admit it mostly have Global and Asia country that is not CN) was actually shock at how stupid it is considering there is nothing happen between them

I believe it has also something to do with how the devs/publisher handled this initial negtivity. It is almost always that.

Its just in this case its hard to tell - since all the actual drama is in mandarin. Global & English audiences getting only the tip of the iceberg.

Btw in the global GFL discord there are a lot of veteran members/mods with chinese characters in nicknames, but most of them are not actually chinese so their info is also often based on rough translations & rumors only.

No, its not. To be fair, the chinese players did blow it out of proporsion, but the devs themselvs keep trolling/feeding these people with semi-hidden jokes/changes.

These "semi-hidden" jokes being difficult to find and connect and highlighted to us by the same Chinese players who blow things out of proportion and resort to hyperbole?

Not sure why you don't immediately question whether these semi-hidden stuff is even true or not.

To repeat an example I used elsewhere, a good representation of their ability to hunt down such details is how a gun in the game is called "young lion". Which, in Hebrew, is called "Lavi". Which happens to be the name of an obscure 1980s prototype Isaeli jet that was never put into production. COINCIDENCE? NO, THEY MUST BE ZIONISTS.

When you deal with people with that level of mental gymnastics, you really have to question all of these claims of supposed "hints" and "jokes". With that level of reasoning I can probably link a girl scout cookie sale to the Illuminati.

Botted review bombing is nothing new when it comes to Chinese gacha publishers unfortunately. Though unlike BilliBilli, Steam is most likely going to remove most of the negative reviews since this is obvious review bombing

they are also responsible for this. they did nothing after the GFL2 fuzz broke out, so here we are. But I'm more angry of the fuzz maker and the crowd. these people have more responsibility for current situations, and they should all go fk themselves. They are wounded real GF players's feelings, and as a Chinese player, I feel really ashamed, reading English comments saying "these simplified Chinese troll reviews".

Didn't Mica cave in to some demands? I remember OBT had some story changes due to player feedback. The only other major change I recall was Commander's appearance.

It's similar to what happens in Twitter sometimes: A small group of people become really noisy about a certain topic while the rest of us have to deal with the consequences of their actions.
