Planet Erekir, Silicon Arc Furnace

Hello-
I'm playing on Erekir, very early in the tutorial, when it says to build a silicon arc furnace.

I have built one, fully powered, supplied with sand and graphite, and a duct leading to the core to feed silicon to the core.

However, the graphic shows that the furnace is not supplied with graphite, even though I see it in the duct going all the way up to the furnace.

I'm wondering if anyone has seen this sort of thing - I'll provide a screenshot if necessary.

When I began playing Mindustry on Serpulo, ~80% of my problems were due to contamination - unexpected/unwanted material in a conveyor. For example, copper in a conveyor containing coal for a power generator. Contamination is less of an issue on Eriker but still common (for me). Of course there isn't an easy way to be sure what your issue is but contamination is a possibility.

Each conveyor block holds [3] items, but the UI shows only one item per block. So for example if a block has 2 graphite and one beryllium, it will show the graphite icon. If you (left) click any conveyor section, a popup** will show the actual contents of the section. (On a normally moving conveyor, the info section of the toolbox will show flow rate estimate(s) for any material(s). So if you still have the problem setup, you can click the conveyor block next to the furnace and see the actual contents.

As a practical matter, if the conveyor contents are not moving, AND you know the furnace is starved for graphite, the problem is almost guaranteed to be contamination. You could simply delete and replace the final conveyor stage. But checking the contamination might assist troubleshooting.

Correction: I believe Serpulo conveyors do have multiple items per block, but that doesn't appear to be the case on Eriker.

Ok, thanks. I've gone back to playing on Serpulo for now, but I'll prob get back into my build on Erekir soon, and I'll look into these things.

However, yesterday, I did delete the conduit and rebuild it. Another thing I could try is rebuilding the furnace.

Incredibly, it seems I was mistaken on the multiple items per conveyor block. So if contamination had been your problem, you should have been able to see it.
