How to change name in the game files?

I can not change my name. Where is the location of that data? Also give me warnings of doing this.

I'm having this problem as well. I'd like to change the player name I set when I first launched the game, but can't find any setting to do it.

to change your username that appears in multiplayer, you need to:
click play, then join game
at the very top of the UI, there should be an editable pad with your username
then type everything you'd like there, it will act as your username
(expect for names like awfawvfgavwuagvgsafgauwfvsagf)

also i do not reccomend messing with the game files, unless you need to find crash data
