Mass hails, scorches, or lancers can destroy a [Spiroct]. You need enough turrets to inflict damage faster than the guardian heals itself. (Hails have an advantage here with their long range.) It might be challenging to get enough power for mass lancers.
If only duos, hmm... They'd probably need artful placement just far enough from the guardian's path that it doesn't attack them, yet in range. You'd probably need several failures / iterations to make that work.
Looks like I didn't capture 170 until after I'd completed the campaign, so I had plenty of firepower. I don't think a screenshot would be helpful.
Thank you for a legitimately helpful response.
I just ran into the same issue on another level which had a threat level of "low." The sector itself has no way of producing power, and I'm fairly early in the game (pre titanium, but have graphite and silicon). However, I haven't been able to take graphite or silicon with me for the ability to produce power.
The level I am currently facing (I started a new game after being obliterated on 170), I had no issues all the way up to level 20 which is the final level. It's not a guardian level as far as I know, but these walking things just climb over my walls and I can't figure out a way to stop them.
I don't have resources to produce hail, only duos and waves.
After playing the game for a couple years, I'm shocked at the difficulty of the final level on "low" threat sectors. And, as you know, it's more difficult after restarting it.
