How to destroy units in V6

There are a batch of units produced in a map that I want to remove, so far the only thing I can think of is to drown them in water but some units with walking abilities do not die.

I wanted to uncapture a sector and the only option i had was to unlock Launch Pad and send thorium there. Then cause a thorium reactor explosion. It'd probably be easier to put a command center in a corner somewhere and get them out of the way.
